Alan joins Purple Vision as an Associate Consultant. He has over 25 years of experience in the IT industry with extensive knowledge of both the commercial and not for profit sectors. Having started out as an implementation and training consultant he joined NorthgateArinso (then Peterborough Software) building their IT outsourcing service offerings and eventually managing the service delivery team and acting as commercial lead for their managed services.
Alan continued to gain a reputation for building and leading new teams, heading up the newly formed pre-sales and bid management operation. By improving the methods used for evaluating their client’s formal requirements specifications and ‘informal’ business needs, the team improved their bid/win ratio by over 50%.
He continued to grow his customer care experience, having responsibility for the over 500 customers across three software products, managing a team with commercial responsibility for customer retention and account development before becoming a regional sales manager for both new business and account management.
Later Alan joined Iris Software Group as Sales Director for their Exchequer accounting and business solutions division working with software partners, direct sales and the customer account teams.
In the not for profit sector, he has spent the last few years at Blackbaud working with the Raiser’s Edge and NetCommunity products helping organisations to achieve their fundraising and constituent management objectives through the effective use of technology and in particular a CRM database.
Alan also owns Perceptium, a business software consultancy he formed in 2011, has a degree in Systems Analysis and is a football coach at his local junior football club.
