Supporter database 'healthcheck' nets School increased Gift Aid

11 November 2009

Many Schools may be missing out on substantial Gift Aid claims, as Purple Vision discovered when they made an independent assessment of the North London Collegiate School’s use of their fundraising system.

As part of an initial ‘healthcheck’ Purple Vision provided recommendations on how to make better use of their database – The Raiser’s Edge by Blackbaud.

The unclaimed Gift Aid was a welcome bonus to the Development Office at the School. Amanda Lovejoy, Alumnae & Development Officer said: ‘Our work with Purple Vision has been very rewarding – literally! With their help we have been able to submit a significantly enhanced Gift Aid claim and more importantly improved our ability to process regular claims bringing in regular Gift Aid income for our development programmes.’

Interested Schools should act quickly as the rules on Gift Aid claims are changing. From April 2010 HMRC will only accept Gift Aid claims for the last four tax years rather than the current six.
